The Valley of Dust also known as the Crook of Kings is a hot desert expanse surrounded by the Arpak Mountains, towards the western end of the mighty mountain range. It was selected by the early Pharaohs of the Great Kingdom of the South as the site of their palace Akar-Mera and the necropolis, Sadar. The terrain of the valley varies quite a bit, in some reaches the land is made up of sand dunes, in others it is pebble-strewn plains of cracked earth. Scattered throughout the wasteland are assorted monuments and complexes built on the orders of assorted pharaohs down the ages.
